Module Overview

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) using Autodesk Fusion 360 enables users to create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for engineering and product development. Fusion 360 combines design, modeling, simulation, and manufacturing tools in a single platform. This course introduces the fundamentals of sketching, 3D modeling, assemblies, and basic rendering. Students will develop practical skills in designing mechanical components and transforming ideas into precise digital models used in real-world engineering applications.

Course Overview

This FabStudio Computer-Aided Design course focuses on developing strong fundamentals in CAD using Autodesk Fusion 360. Students will learn how to create precise 2D sketches, detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings used in engineering and manufacturing.

Software Used: Autodesk Fusion 360

Goal: Build accurate and industry-standard 3D models with proper dimensions and assembly techniques.

  • Create fully constrained 2D sketches.
  • Develop 3D models using core modeling tools.
  • Apply modifications such as fillet, chamfer, and shell.

Module 5: Assemblies & Motion

  • Creating components
  • Applying joints and constraints
  • Basic motion simulation

Module 6: Rendering & Technical Drawings

Final Project
